C.I.T.A.D.E.L.
C.I.T.A.D.E.L. (Central Intelligence for Tactical Assault and Defense via Energized Lasers) is a hex-based strategy board game where lasers, optics, and tactical foresight converge into a fast-paced showdown. Designed as a modular battlefield, it allows players to maneuver specialized units across a shifting hex-grid, using real laser beams as both weapons and tools of precision. Unlike traditional combat systems built on dice or abstract stats, every move in C.I.T.A.D.E.L. is resolved in visible, physical space—making accuracy, reflection, and positioning central to the outcome.
The battlefield is populated by five core units, each with its own identity and purpose:
C.R.A.B. (Cannon-Rigged Armored Behemoth)
M.1.R.R.0.R. (Mark-1 Ray Reflecting 0-Latency Reactor)
T.O.W.E.R. (Tactical Orbital Warping Extraction Router)
M.E.C.H. (Mobile Engineering and Construction Hub)
S.H.I.E.L.D. (Super-Hardened Ionized Energy Layer Defense)
Each player tracks their resources and upgrades through a personal HUD, managing health points, overcharge storage, and upgrades that evolve unit abilities. Strategic depth is elevated by Anomaly Cards, randomized events that inject unpredictability into every match. These cards trigger battlefield shifts, power surges, sudden obstructions, or temporary boosts, ensuring that no two games play alike. By forcing adaptive thinking, they preserve tension and make long-term strategy as important as immediate tactical precision.
What sets C.I.T.A.D.E.L. apart is the use of real laser mechanics. Beams travel across the hex grid, interact with reflective units, and determine line-of-sight combat outcomes in real time. This system rewards careful planning, spatial reasoning, and creativity—transforming traditional turn-based strategy into a visually dynamic contest.
The modular board structure ensures scalability: each game can be a short skirmish or an extended campaign depending on how players configure the tiles. The combination of core units, upgrade tokens, and Anomaly Cards offers near-limitless replayability, while the tangible drama of light and optics keeps players physically engaged with every decision.
